Animals and Plants (Approaching)_04
As Kelly continues to thumb through her mother’s book, she finds her mother’s notes. The notes compared physical structures of plants and animals.

Kelly looks at the notes and notices a word she is not familiar with: exoskeleton. She quickly flips back to the section of the book where all the creepy insects are. “Ah ha!” shouts Kelly, “That’s why spiders look so scary! They have exoskeletons to protect their organs. That would be like us wearing a suit of armor around all day.” She sets the book down and switches off the lamp.

As she pulls up the covers and closes her eyes, she thinks about all the different types of plants animals. They seem to have similar needs but have adapted many different ways to achieve them.
