A Foggy Day Lower_level_01
Woof, woof!
My dog Lucky is barking. Am I still dreaming? I wonder as I rub my eyes and sit up in bed. Okay boy, give me just a minute, I think.
The Sun is just coming up as I open the backdoor for Lucky to go out. He hops around the yard, sniffing under bushes and in the holes made by the armadillo that visits our yard at night. It is not long, and he is back at the door ready to come in.
“Wait, boy! Your feet are all wet. Let me dry them off.”
I grab a towel and start wiping his feet and legs. The grass was not wet yesterday, and it did not rain last night.
“I wonder what made the grass so wet?” I asked Lucky as I finished drying his feet.
“Come on, let’s get your breakfast, boy!” My big sister Sandy walks into the kitchen still in her pajamas. She yawns and asks, “What’s all the barking about?” Then she stepped on Lucky’s wet towel.
“And what is this wet towel doing on the floor?” she grumbles.
“Oh! I had to wipe Lucky’s feet. The grass and bushes were wet! What causes that?”
“It’s dew,” said Sandy. : “Dew usually forms overnight. It happens when warm wet air meets cool things.”
Besides grass, you can see dew on things like windows, cars, and even spider webs.”
