Our Sun is a hot ball of gas. It gives light and heat to our planet. We need the Sun to live. The Sun is very special. Plants needs sunlight to make food. We could not live without the Sun. Our Sun may look big, but it is an average-sized star.

The Sun looks huge to us. Look at the picture . Our Sun is the tiny dot on the bottom left. The other dots are larger stars. They look much larger here. From Earth, they look tiny to us. The stars in the night sky look like tiny dots of light. This is because they are very far away. The Sun is very close to us.

Scientists want to study the Sun so they can learn more about stars. The Sun is very important to us. Without it, we could not survive. Earth would be a cold, dark, lifeless planet. Our Sun is the best star. It is our shining star.
