With the chemicals mixed and the Bunsen burner heating the chemicals, the two had to wait for the results. In about an hour, they would have them. “There is some soup left. I’m going to see if Henry would like some. I’ll be right back Fernando,” Julie said as she walked out the door.

“Okay, I’m going to run next door to the library. I need to check on a book I have on reserve,” Fernando yelled back. “I’ll be right back as well.”

About twenty minutes had passed. Julie returned to find Fernando cleaning up a mess. A beaker had broken as the chemicals were being heated. “I’ll get the trash can,” Julie stated. “What happened?”

“I don’t know! When I got back from the library, the beaker had a big crack. The chemicals were running everywhere,” exclaimed Fernando.

“Well, I guess we need to put all this in the trash can and try again. It’s going to be a long night,” Julie sighed.
